May Flowers

A Return to Beauty

Nature and flowers have always been a great source of inspiration for Simon G.

May Flowers

Many of our designs reflect the shapes of curling vines, the explosion of
bright colors in the springtime, or the delicate geometry of unfolding petals.
Simon himself often credits a walk in the garden as the origin of a new design idea or jewelry innovation.

"Seeing beauty in a flower could awaken humans, however briefly, to the beauty that is an essential part of their innermost being, their true nature...flowers would become for us an expression in form of that which is most high, most sacred, and ultimately formless within ourselves. Flowers, more fleeting, more ethereal, and more delicate then the plants out of which they emerged, would become like messengers from another realm, like a bridge between the world of physical forms and the formless. They not only had a scent that was delicate and pleasing to humans, but also brought a fragrance from the realm of spirit."

-Eckhart Tolle, A New Earth

Nature is an unending font of beauty and creativity, and there’s no time like May for brilliant color and exquisite beauty of flora in full bloom.

We wanted to share some other artists who are similarly inspired by flowers and see what they had to say about floral inspiration.
Niki and William Irving of Flourish Flower Farm, own a boutique flower farm growing specialty cut + heirloom flowers using
sustainable, natural practices in the mountains of Asheville, NC. Here’s what they had to say about this flowers this month.

"In our boutique floral design studio, we are noticing that many brides are opting for a less stringent approach to wedding flowers; they have a few ideas about a color palette, and then leave the specifics of flowers up to us to choose the very best of what is blooming during a particular season."

-Niki from Flourish Flower Farm

Another Artist we LOVE is @surfaceofbeauty

We love the way Surface of Beauty brings floral design to urban spaces.
The integration of nature and city is so beautiful, and her work brings such light and
brightness to a traditional streetscape of brick and mortar.
Especially right now, with so many of us stuck in our hometowns,
a beautiful mural lifts our spirit and provides the affirmative message we need.
